The City of Gering is seeking a motivated Lineman Electric Apprentice to join our Electric Department. This entry-level position provides hands-on training in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the City's electrical distribution system under the guidance of experienced journeymen. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, eager to learn, and able to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions. Previous electrical or related trade experience and completion of basic electrical coursework are preferred. Responsibilities include assisting with power line work, operating equipment, and maintaining electrical systems to help ensure reliable service to our community. This position offers a long-term career path in municipal electric utilities through ongoing training, skill development, and advancement toward Journeyman Lineman status.
